Kettleman City to Get a Spring Cleaning In Celebration of Earth Day

Kettleman City, CA , April 19, 2011 — Employees from the Waste Management Kettleman Hills Facility, the Kettleman City elementary school girl’s volleyball team and the Kettleman City body builder club will have collaborated to celebrate Earth Day by organizing a cleanup event in Kettleman City.

The Kettleman City cleanup event will be two fold: one section will be the Adopt A-Highway area, one mile along Kettleman City Highway 41; the second section will be the elementary school, sports fields and surrounding areas with an emphasis on providing a safer fire brake for the community. The event will bring volunteers from the Kettleman City Fire Station 9 and local residents.

“This cleanup event provides a unique opportunity to showcase the importance of volunteerism and giving back to the community”, said Gilbert Miguel, Kettleman City Fire Captain.”Our station is excited to be involved in the clean up because it symbolizes how the community can work together to bring about positive change.”
